The D&M CPA team attended the IRS Nationwide Tax Forum in Chicago, IL this year to stay current on new laws and ensure we’re providing you with the best tax strategies for your business and personal tax return.
The conference included seminars sharing the latest federal and state tax laws, with leading industry experts speaking about the issues. This included continuing education and CFP credits. There were also many workshops to provide hands-on sessions, as well as the annual federal tax refresher course.
Topics covered included ethics, federal tax law updates, protecting information with electronic filing, S-Corporation issues, social security, the best tax shelters, real estate investments, small business deductions, sole-proprietorships, military taxes, and much more. There are many frauds and scams out there today that can be dangerous, which was covered at length as well.
There was an interesting case resolution program where people all over the midwest bring in their most difficult unresolved IRS cases and have them resolved or sent to more specialized experts for additional research.
