The age-old question! How do I make money? And we’re not talking about the measly average $30-50k per year. We’re talking about the $millions that many people dream about – more like $30-50k per week! What’s very interesting is that many people talk and dream about these $millions, “if I had the money I’d be happy. I’d be able to [insert long lost dream here]”, but right after that, they go sit on the couch and watch TV…
“It’s not what you do from 9-5 that matters. It’s what you do from 5-9 that makes the difference” – Self-made millionaire.
Maybe you don’t want to hear this, but the successful people of this world did not have mega fortunes overnight driven by pure luck or a crazy high IQ. It appears like an overnight success to outsiders like us, but in reality, these people had their eyes set on lofty goals year before and had been working nonstop towards them, never giving up. Never listening to the negative people in their lives telling them they couldn’t do it, and in fact probably creating distance from these negative people even if that meant seeing family once or twice a year.
Negativity is a contagious habit that many of us can easily catch ourselves participating in. These aids people in giving up on their dreams and passions every single day (and going to watch TV every night forever). Don’t let that happen to you! I recently saw Pitbull speak at a Tony Robbins seminar about how he was born into a rough childhood, and he took that as motivation to create a huge success of himself. Mr Worldwide says he hears “no” Every. Single. Day. People constantly tell him “you’re no good; you’ve lost it; that song isn’t as good as the last”, on and on. Many of us can relate. So what does he do? Get depressed? Quit? Grab some 9-5 job he would hate? Definitely not. He uses those comments as a challenge, as fuel for his passion-lit fire.
One thing I’ve seen as a common factor for many utterly successful people like Pitbull – they’re genuine, they’re happy, and they’re always grateful. Gratitude for what you have NOW is the first step towards achieving the more that you crave in your core. If you can’t be grateful for what you already have in your life, why would you be grateful when you have more money? (and for those of us in the US, we are already in the top 1% of the world, to put things into perspective). Money magnifies personalities. Prepare yourself for mega-success by becoming genuine, happy, and grateful now, and you’re on your way to achieving your wildest dreams.
